About the Role
As a Draughtsman, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D models, detailed drawings, and fabrication data using Autodesk Inventor. Experience in mineral processing, heavy industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
Drawing & Modelling
• Develop and update accurate 3D models using Autodesk Inventor
• Prepare fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain documentation traceability (Vault exposure advantageous)
Engineering Support
• Work closely with Engineers to convert concepts into manufacturable designs
• Participate in design reviews and efficiently implement feedback
• Assist with resolving design challenges, clashes, and site-related modifications
Standards & Compliance
• Apply industry standards, codes, and internal drawing conventions
• Ensure drawings meet quality standards and project specifications
Manufacturing & Project Interface
• Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support fabrication teams and respond to workshop queries
• Assist Project Management with layouts, equipment footprints, and interface details
Quality Control
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability prior to issue
• Perform multidisciplinary cross-checks to identify clashes or inconsistencies
• Ensure correct drawing numbering, issue status, and document control
• Identify and resolve drafting errors and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Draughting Certificate or Diploma (Mechanical, Structural, or Multidisciplinary)
• Proven experience as a Designer/Draughtsman in an engineering or fabrication environment
Technical Skills
• Autodesk Inventor – Advanced proficiency (mandatory)
• Autodesk Vault experience (advantageous)
• Ability to produce fabrication-ready structural, mechanical, and piping drawings
Experience
• Mineral processing, mining equipment, or heavy manufacturing experience (strong advantage)
• Plant layout design, material handling, or process plant exposure (beneficial)
