MUNICIPAL OUTREACH COORDINATOR – NW 403: Matlosana
Employer: Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)
Type: Fixed-term contract (12 months, ending no later than 14 January 2027)
Salary: R13,900 per month (inclusive package)
Purpose of the Role:
To educate, raise awareness, and inform communities on civic and democracy education, as well as to mobilise community participation in all electoral activities and events towards the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/N3 plus a 3-year degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ relevant or community mobilisation experience
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a car for work purposes
- Must have a cellphone
- Knowledge of elections, civic education, and voter education advantageous
Additional Requirements:
- Must reside in or be familiar with the Matlosana municipal area
- Must not hold or be involved in any political position or campaign
- Must uphold the values of the Electoral Commission
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct civic and voter education workshops in collaboration with IEC officials and stakeholders
- Develop and implement outreach projects and community partnerships
- Promote voter participation through media and educational activities
- Maintain accurate reports, registers, and attendance records
- Support IEC programmes at local, provincial, and national levels
